Leading the dance on after his ‘Tracks From The Dungeon’ comp in 2019, Pippen pops his raw funk in four previously unreleased, tracky joints dating back to the early ‘90s. ‘Disco Juju 1’ tweaks his boxes into a bubbling, midtempo discoid lather, and ‘Disco Juju 2’ trims back to a slompy jak making use of what appears to be the 727’s latin percussive memory bank. ‘Disco Juju 3’ pushes the pace to a more frenetic, bleeping jak-attack with proper Chicagoan abandon that bridges the gap between Adonis and Jamal Moss, while ‘Disco Juju 4’ injects some funky bassline sequence into the formula with a freaky ferric tang to taste.
