Chronophage - Th'Pig'Kiss'd Album LP (Cleta-Patra, 2020)
Truly great, truly original, truly inspired/inspiring no-gimmick rock music from Austin four-piece (I think?) Chronophage. To me, they almost have a similar passion/sincerity/zero-fucks-for-the-"industry" approach of a band like Milk Music, though sonically less fried/soaring, stemming perhaps more from the VU/Kiwi underground mode of operation. It ultimately doesn't matter. It just sounds really good, and they look like they're probably cool people to hang out with too.
Their debut LP "Prolog for Tomorrow" was one of my favorite new records I heard last year, and this one seems like the next logical step, which is all you can really hope for from a band that is clearly taking its own cues. It also seems to be selling out everywhere else, including from the label itself, so grab one while we have a few...
