DJ LiL Tal - Juke Tracks LP (Rockin' House, 2014)

"DJ Lil’ Tal, born & raised on the south side of Chicago, found his gift at an early age. He began deejaying at the age of 7 yrs old on his moms hi-fi stereo system. A few years later in life, he started understanding the fundamentals of music. His childhood friend, Terrance Woodard, introduced him to a legend of the decks known as Walter “Get Down” Brown. Walter taught him the basics in less than 12 hours. After that, he began perfecting his craft. By the age of 11, DJ Lil’ Tal was introduced to broadcasting by his aunt & uncle at Kennedy King College (w.k.k.c.). That is where he met the greats of other legends such as Pink House, Bobby “Q” Bobby, & James Kelly (power 92).

Around that same time, DJ Lil’ Tal started deejaying at picnics for local bars, in which, his mother was affiliated. By the age of 14, he auditioned for a DJ mix show on W.K.K.C 89.3 FM in Chicago. He became the mix show coordinator for the hotmix show “The Friday Night Network Connection”, which aired every Friday night from 6 pm – 9 pm for about 7 years. Lil' Tal Also did guest spots on “Friday Night Audio” on W.K.K.C. which was a college jock mix show. He would later connect with a radio personality superstar by the name of Sam Sylk. Lil' Tal succeeded in gaining a 2 hour mix slot every Monday on Sam’s show, which also aired on W.K.K.C.

As Lil' Tal worked his way up the ladder, he met international legend, Paul Johnson. Paul Johnson became a mentor to DJ Lil' Tal in the recording industry. While Lil’ Tal and long time good friend, DJ Gant-Man, was rocking parties to further heighten their popularity, they started experimenting with making tracks. At the age of 17 he produced his first 12” titled “Flava In Ya’ Ear” on Dance Mania Records which was a huge success. He went on to later record numerous recordings for Dance Mania as well as many labels overseas such as Capital / EMI Records.

To this day, he gives much love to the crew, Playground Productions, which helped give him his street fame & credit. He continues to rock clubs & parties with his good friend for over 15 years, DJ Deeon. DJ Lil' Tal has numerous recordings under his belt from vinyl, tapes, & cds. DJ Lil’ Tal has worked on projects that have been released on major dance labels such as, Wide Recordings, Dance Mania, Freak Mode, Ghetto Rhythm Composers, & many more." - Traxsource
