Mysteries of Love - Wasted Love LP (Albert's Basement, 2015)

"Another gem un earthed from the break dance the dawn sacred mineral reserve. If you havent already picked up the Xwave and Girls Girls Girls LPs on Little Big Chief or the Muura full length and Sprot 7″ on Wormwood- not to mention that xNOBBQx Skewer 10″ on Golden Lab- seek out those treasures while you can! Mysteries vocalist Anthony Guerra (Antipan, Love Chants, Your Intestines) is one of the key players in the bdtd scene and this record, one of his hallmark performances, is the latest to drop from the breakdance back catalogue. Wasted Love was recorded sometime in the 00s in Tokyo, Japan by A Guerra (vocals), Mark Anderson (drums), Mark Sadgrove (guitar) and Noel Callan (guitar). Radically re-mastered by James Plotkin for this release and with one previously unheard track.” – Alberts Basement

"RECOMMENDED: Shuffling haunt of twangy, obliterating guitars with background taps and some low register vocals competing for real estate with the instruments around it. Really everything lives and dies around that guitar tone, given the roughness of the recording and realization of the spaces surrounding them, so when they hit a Velvets-y lop on “Pale Moon” or a Jandekian emotional collapse on “No One,” celebrate with the sense that you’re hearing love in its rawest form. Guys from this project (recorded in the late ‘00s in Tokyo) have been futzing around the Australian fringes for years, in projects like Greymouth and Love Chants, with production by xNOBBQx’s Matt Earle. Love is tough to find and harder to hold, and there’s only 250 copies of this to go around, so believe me when I say that they know." - Doug Mosurock (Still Single)
